Lesson 6 Using the Completions/Response Overview Report
This report helps you decide how much confidence to place in the results and whether there are early signs of strain or uneven experience within the team. Use it before interpreting scores elsewhere in the report.
What this report shows
This page focuses on participation and response patterns, not performance.
Response rate Shows how many people completed the survey. Higher participation increases confidence that results reflect a shared experience rather than the views of a small number of people.
Response patterns Groups responses into broad patterns. These patterns highlight variation in experience, not individuals.
Working well – experiences are largely positive and consistent
Mixed – people are experiencing the same environment differently
Under strain – a higher concentration of negative responses
Benchmarks and totals Where shown, these provide context by comparing:
Your team with the wider organisation
Your organisation with all respondents
Use these as reference points, not targets.
Key questions this report helps answer
-
Participation levels indicate whether results reflect a shared team experience or only part of the group. What to consider
Higher participation increases confidence
Lower participation means results should be interpreted carefully
Uneven distribution may signal different experiences within the team
-
Response patterns show whether people are experiencing work in similar or divergent ways. What to consider
Polarised responses often point to role, workload, or manager differences
Neutral-heavy responses can indicate uncertainty or lack of clarity
Consistent responses suggest a shared team experience
-
This report can indicate whether a meaningful number of people may be under pressure. What to consider
This is not about identifying individuals
Small numbers still matter if patterns repeat elsewhere
Strain should be explored, not assumed
Activity: Interpreting the response patterns
Start with the Leadership Insight Summary. Find the section Participation and Response Report Review. This tells you:
How many responses were received
Whether there are signs that some team members may be under strain
Now return to the Completions / Response Overview Report. Use the report to understand why that conclusion appears. Look at:
The overall response rate
Whether responses cluster as Working well, Mixed, or Under strain
Whether experiences appear consistent or uneven across the team
Capture one working assumption. Note in your Leadership Insight Summary under the heading Overall Review. Complete the sentence: “Based on the response patterns, my current assumption is that…” for example:
Most people appear to be experiencing work in a similar way, which suggests…
Experiences across the team appear uneven, which might mean…
A small number of responses may be influencing the results because…
